VAT is only payable on the buyers premium, NOT the hammer price.

Well true to word it's there. Next to a Triumph a colleague of mine is bidding on. To say I'm disappointed I didn't get 1st dibs is an understatement, oh well money talks I suppose. :headbang:

Hammer at £16,000 plus 10% and Vat on the 10%, when I viewed it with Spud on Sunday, I said that I doubted that it would make more than £16,000 on the hammer, as it was not running and incorrect in many areas!

Yeah thanks for coming over with me much appreciated. It confirmed what I sort of knew that it was thrown together and not "built" but I still would have had it if it was a bit cheaper. Noticed a dealer bidding on it as well which doesn't help (Unless he was just buying bikes for fun).
My really big issue now is that it was bought online so after all the looking, then finding it, then asking for 1st refusal then not getting the option I've lost it again. :headbang:

Hopefully it will turn up on this forum or someone may see it elsewhere on the net LV4482 .

I suppose the other kick in the nads was the fact the reserve was set at 17.5k yet it went for 16k don't know what went on there. If the seller had come to me for a cash deal it's likely he would have got more !!

On a positive note for you fellas I won't be boring you every 5 mins with yet another question.

Why 10% is it not 15% for buyers plus Vat ?

My error, 10% for sellers and 15% for buyers. So the seller got £14,027.10, also costs of catalog etc, so about £13,900 in his hand!

I know for sure that's less than he wanted. Perhaps he should have asked me 1st after all.
