1959 AFS G3
Good evening all,
My first post here as I have just acquired my first Matchless ,
The bike in question is WXR 575
I would welcome any info on the bikes past history ( AFS SERVICE) all I have found is that it was one of a batch of fifty .ordered by the HO.
The restoration was started years ago by the previous owner ,all items are in great nick ,all painted and chromed ,99% complete but completely dismantled , so I would welcome any pointers or links that will assist my rebuild .
What would be the best literature to help with the restoration?
Thanks in anticipation of any help with this project .

For the history, go to links, click on club related (3) and you'll find the AFS Register. I owned WXR594 for a few years, good bike.

http://www.honoroakmotorcycles.co.uk/BIKES/0517g3.htm A couple of 1960 bikes here. XYM 600 looks like a decent bike. It is listed on the AFS register.

Make a note of the event at Wickstead Park. Quite close to the owners club HQ.
The AFS was formed in 1949 and served until disbanded, along with the rest of the Civil Defence movement, on 1st April 1968. The NFS and AFS Vehicles Group are planning to commemorate this with two significant events this summer.

Think they look good! Then again I know of another G3 that has them!
