Thanks Rob. Some fine machines.
Those large route-finder boxes look popular and interesting with four rollers and two large knobs/meters. Any more info in them?

It was good weather for both days, slightly overcast and cool in the morning.
It is a regularity rally and the rider must keep on time along the whole 670 km route, with the winner being the rider with the least error (in seconds) typically as little as 100 seconds!
Here is a picture of the route schedule being loaded into the box. At the top of the box they usually have 3 stopwatches used for calculating speed and keeping on time. Up until a couple of years ago there would be marshals posted along the route to record your time of passage, but nowdays each bike has a GPS logger which is used to calculate total error.

At the top of Willie's box are rollers with the speed/distance/time calculations he uses to keep on time and on the rollers below is the route schedule with directions, speed and time allowed. The lid of his box is on the saddle and has the stopwatches.

(The Model 18 AJS on the left belongs to Jampot member Roy Irvine in Johannesburg, who is also the librarian at the Classic Motorcycle Club - Johannesburg).

Thanks Rob. Fascinating, these imaginative solutions.
Here are a few from bikes on the annual Westward Ho! all night (midnight to 7 a.m.) reliability event usually held early April, although this year it's in two weeks time, 23rd to 24th March.
