Sprids, the Westward Ho bikes have the added complication of needing a reading light, thank goodness for LED's.

Roy, we didn't have time to chat as Les had to catch a plane home, but I got his email addy, so I'll ask him, he said he doesn't do this forum thing.

Yes, 84p and sunshine!
The Ho! is mostly on minor roads with some grassy lanes, plus the bleak Exmoor, and very near the end it includes ascending twisty Porlock Hill, the steepest A-road in the United Kingdom, approaching 1 in 4 (25%) in places.
It has been a challenge for many trials since the 1930's. It climbs 1,400' in 2 miles.

The video clip below doesn't really do it justice....(right click 'Open in new window').

Hi Rob what wonderful bikes you and your colleagues have. The weather makes me very envious.

Thanks Tommy, the eventual winner, for the second year in a row, was Gavin Walton on the 1936 Model 9 AJS, his brother came second on a BSA. Gavin mentioned to me that he would like to join our club, so we might get a new member soon.
