vehicle history
I obtained the history of one of my bikes from DVLA a few years ago by completing a form and paying a small fee. In return they sent a stack of copies of all the registration documents showing previous owners back to 1954.
Does anyone know if this service is still provided? I have been asked to download and print the form for someone who does not use a computer, but it does not seem to exist now - only a link to get MOT history.

Google form V888. Form was updated in Sept 2017, so should still work.

Re: vehicle history
That's what I thought, but no mention of vehicle history on the form now. Perhaps the service has fallen victim to the Data Protection Act when updated this year?

Re: vehicle history
If you put the reason for your request "to get previous history of the machine", then you should get all the information they hold.

Re: vehicle history
Let us know if it ultimately was successful if you could?

Re: vehicle history
Hi did this a few weeks ago , got refused ,saying did not meet the criteria which was
*where details of a previous keeper are needed for court proceedings.
*finding out who was responsible for a accident.
*tracing the keeper of a abandoned vehicle.
*tracing the keeper of a vehicle parked on private land.
I asked for the names of previous owners to help me with the restoration and to help with the history of my bike which i actually own, they said i did not have reasonable cause and sent my cheque back. I did the same thing about 2 years ago with another bike , and got a list of all previous owners. Any one else been refused lately?

Re: vehicle history
I may be mistaken, but think that when I applied, there was a box with "Obtain History of Vehicle" and a request for £5. There is no mention of this on the present V888 form. It may have fallen victim to the Data Protection Act, which would be a great shame.bostonted wrote:Hi did this a few weeks ago , got refused ,saying did not meet the criteria which was
