Use an old top nut with the hex machined off and a length of 12mm studding. Drill and tap the nut 12mm, fit stud, job done the perfect assembly tool.

Use a clip on handle bar from a modern machine as an oil seal tube clamp. I think 52mm is right. they are available on Ebay from lots of sources. I'm posh and use an old Ducati part. Being an old fart, I fitted adjustable bars to help my dodgy wrist. Still get a crick in the neck though. Anybody want to buy a 750SS?

Many years ago in the 50's I remember using a broom handle for this job no problems.
