not quite a AJS
Hi, but first apologies for this as its something different to my AJS.
I have just been offered a BSA C10 approx. 1942. the conditions is quite rough but all there. none runner and free.
I've attached a pic.
What's it worth in said condition?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: not quite a AJS
First of all what model is it? I can just about see it has girder forks. It does look like an OHV to me which would make it a 250 C11. C10 was a 250 side valve. I think the fact its not postwar, does raise its value a bit. Looks quite complete and sound. Must be worth £1000, or more if anyone really wanted a late girder fork BSA. Quite rare to find a bike almost complete and original in that condition. Quiet good enough to get going and keep it looking like it is. I could date the reg. no. and give some idea of frame and engine number year. Unless it is WD or post war which I could date correct.

Re: not quite a AJS
.....and this
This is the overhead valve C11 engine. We call
It the overhead valve C11 engine as it has
Overhead valves and came after the
Side valve C9 engine and the
Side valve C10 engine which
You have not got.
(To be fair, it does look as if it could be an OHV engine ).

Free? It must be worth at least the asking price.AGoodfellow wrote:Hi, but first apologies for this as its something different to my AJS.

Re: not quite a AJS
Yes that is what was written Rob but C10 is a side valve the bike in question appears to be OHV so not a C10 So the persone needs to establish what model it is.ajscomboman wrote:AGoodfellow wrote:I have just been offered a BSA C10 approx 1942.

Re: not quite a AJS
I think the confusion could be because, I believe, most BSA sidevalve engines had the plug at the top and yours appears to have it in the conventional place for ohv, ie sticking out from the side. I must say I know less about Beezas than I do about AMC bikes.AGoodfellow wrote:Cheers Guys. that's was what i was thinking it was worth.
