What's a happy cruising speed for 16MS?

Post by Chazzyb »

<<As a small aside, Malcolm was talking about his own bike that he was going to try to get to the Alternative rally on. This is an AMC single, with BSA Gold Star barrel and Velocette Cyl. Head - Blimey. Fair play to him, you've got to be really confident to even think about assembling that lot together as a tourer for serious use.>>

I think Malcolm's bike actually has a BSA engine with a Velo head - not just a cylinder. AFAIK, the rolling chassis is Matchless. He *was* at the Alternative on it. He was also at the International on it earlier this year. From snatches of conversation I heard at Burnham, I gather he's been to Romania on the beast too.

Mucho Respect!

.....

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/results ... subtleness

Extract from Pocket Oxford Dictionary:
subtle adj. (subtler, subtlest) 1 elusive, mysterious; hard to grasp. 2 (of scent, colour, etc.) faint, delicate. 3 a perceptive (subtle intellect). b ingenious (subtle device). subtlety n. (pl. -ies). subtly adv. [Latin subtilis]

...I guess it only proves that the English language contains the same ambiguity as the Danish: does the word ending -ness go with any noun?
