Re: Plug type poll.
Has anyone tried extended electrode such as the Champion N9Y in the singles ?
It looks like there's room and they're supposed to give better combustion by starting the fire closer to the centre of the combustion chamber.

Forum page no.3 results now listed. As my file is Excel, this time I am showing it sorted first via plug type. This will show which plug is most popular.

Re: Plug type poll.
The question of what plug to use with todays fuels often arises. We have nothing in tech tips on the subject. So I have said I would try and conduct a poll. Then make a file for guidance. We do need a lot of response to make this successful.
Please reply stating your bike year and model and the plug you are satisfied works OK, even if the said plug is that which was recommended in the workshop manual. Please try and keep replies to that underlined above.

Re: Plug type poll.
What year engine Clive? As there has been a comment about iron head and alloy head, plug reach differs. So really do need to state year of engine.clive wrote:sorry Rob FE80 has worked well on my G80L

Yep, sorry B6HS or B7HS both used successfully. Iron, coil spring head (i.e. standard)dave16mct wrote:Mark can you check that, your '47 AJS should have an iron head and use short reach plugs, B6HS, or B7HS.
Cheers Dave.
