Deciding I will put a bit more effort into my July month (birthday month) I've got the brushes out and made a start on a dashing 7R..
Todays update... just getting the leg over done.. to coin a phrase

Todays update on progress. Caved into peer pressure and have given the poor fellow a red pudding basin instead. :-)

Just trying to decide whether to go red or black :D

I go for black. When I was at school, in the late fifties, every morning on my way to school I would make a detour just to look in the window of Mike Gunyon's bike shop and gaze at his 7R.That bike was black and could well be the reason that I am still an AJS fan.Paul

Black, as a 7R never came in any other colour and certainly not red which was reserved for the Matchless G50.

Well has to be black. The version I am using as ref has disc brake but I'll be putting the drum on this one I think.

The front brake drum of a 7R is itself a more attractive piece of engineering than a disc brake, so you are right again.
