Burman BA problems

Hello. I have a Burman BA gearbox in my 51 mod. Ajs18cs. On my first testride it ran perfect until I changed from 3 to 2 gear. There came some ratling noise like the 2 gear was not fully selected. 3 and 4 was still fine. When I now have it in neutral there is also some noise when rolling the bike. There is also about 3-4 mm movment in and out play on the clutchbasket before installing clutchrod and plates. Something is terrible wrong but what?

Hi, seems an odd problem, if I was you I would check the nut holding the clutch basket to see if it has not loosened, then, more involved, the nut holding the kickstart ratchet pinion on the other end of the layshaft but it's under the gearbox end and so requires dismantling. To have play on the shaft as you describe something has come adrift! Hope the shaft has not snapped, if it had I think the clutch would have come out when you pulled on it.
