Sorry to read in the Jampot today that Alan has ben poorly. i wondered why he had been absent from the site for a while. My best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. I look forward to seeing his wit and wisdom back soon.

The last message I got from Alan showed him in good spirits, still humorous but wanting to take some rest.

Many thanks for the well-wishes. Wit, wisdom and knowledge?, are you sure Folks?. As ever I have been extremely lucky (I think). The cancer was quite large, but had not spread to the lymph glands etc. I have to have a 30 week course of mild Chemo which I am assured will not have serious side effects. I asked the Doctor whether there would be any hair loss, and he looked at my balding pate, grinned and said "Does it matter?" Thanks again for thinking of me.[:(][;)][:)][:D]
