LED lamp upgrades

Post by 1957M30 »

As well as installing a DVR2 I have also updated all the lamps to LED's

The difference is amazing.........
All types are catered for...... 6v-12v, +ve -ve earth
The current consumption is obviously very low.
Also installed a 12v3A inverter that will charge Satnav/phones etc. Using standard 12v motorcycle USB sockets and accessories.

Satnavs and phones charge at about 5 volts and no need for 12v supply.

Mine charge fine (Sony Xperia) with the 6 volt system on run to Denmark IJR and back (apart from needing a new micro USB cable because the old one failed).

Yes I am quite aware of USB voltage thanks
But I have chosen to use a proper waterproof 12v regulated switched motorcycle USB socket
to power my iPhone and auxiliary 12v indicators via the inverter.

Hi Karol,
Yes I agree with you re the led's and I bought mine from the same supplier too.
To offset the overcharging issue I fitted a rectifier/regulator from another supplier in the U.K.

Johnny B,
I tried using a 12volt Garmin sat nav on my 6volt G3 which was fine at first but soon started to power down and up every few minutes. Are you saying it should work fine on a 6volt supply?

Regards

Steve
