I now know more about magnetos than I thought possible. However, professional overhaul is the only sensible way to go. But many thanks, anyway.

Very informative and after having the same mag rewound twice without success its quite important to entrust it to a reliable specialist.

Mate your the greatest this definetly will help me out and a lot rings true. thankyou so much my 52 ajs single 500 runs and idels good but after runing just out of town i end up pushing her back i call her my exersise bike. And i don't like exersise.

Gives more explanation as to why the mag don't work than the original Lucas manual, and without needing a science degree!
